Why getting certified?
The So-Eco label is offering innovative criteria in the field of waste management in Senegal.
The criteria of the label were developed according to the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) Standards, providing a solid framework for social and environment criteria. Doing this is an innovative manner to improve the present practices.
We are adapting the criteria to a new reality; So-Eco is taking into account the features of the local communities. We are providing the guidelines to the Senegalese collectivités locales (municipalities), and they can further adapt the requirements depending on the needs of the region. Eventually, the collectivités locales are the ones handing out the label to the waste management companies.

The criteria were developed in collaboration with experts present in Senegal and Switzerland.
